An Introduction To Ian Barnett

Hi Everyone

I'm Ian Barnett, I live in Norwich, UK. I write and photograph on a 'hobby' basis for the country sports press. My specialism is air rifle hunting and fieldcraft, subjects on which I write monthly with regular columns in both Airgun Shooter and The Countrymans Weekly. I have also authored two books on air rifle hunting. The first was 'An Airgun Hunters Year' published by Merlin Unwin. The second was 'Airgun Fieldcraft' published by Blaze Publishing.
Many of the readers of my work have contacted me asking why I don't publish a blog? So here it is!

As well as my writing and hunting, my other great passion is for the wildlife of East Anglia itself and I have a website which holds my library of nearly 3000 British wildlife studies (plus a selection of landscape pics too). The link to the site is here: WildAnglia
The website also shows previews of both my books. There is a Facebook Page dedicated to Wildanglia too. The link to it is here: www.facebook.com/wildanglia
Please hit the Like button if you visit it.
My photography is achieved on the move .. no tripods or such using a selection of Nikon cameras and lenses. As such, these are not purist images but what I can guarantee is these are wild, free creatures. I use a small number of rifles for my pest control .. all air rifles (as I dislike the noise and disruption of shotguns or full-bore rifles). Weihrauch, Webley and BSA air rifles in both legal limit and FAC power suit my purposes and don't disturb non-target creatures.

If you're going to follow my blog then you're going to have to accept that I have absolutely no crisis of conscience around my love of widlife and my hunting activities. Indeed, it is the vermin control I carry out which allows me access to some of the richest areas of wildlife in Norfolk. So the blog, as it develops, will contain a mixture of wildlife observations, hunting lore and photography. I hope readers will enjoy it.
